SOH 1008

Extraordinary clarity for speech and music: The SOH 1008 comprises a high-power 8" low frequency driver and a 1" high frequency compression driver, each loaded in its own waveguide with both waveguides arranged concentrically to simulate a coaxial horn-loaded driver. The result is a speaker with constant directivity, wide 120° coverage across the frequency spectrum. 

Elaborate crossover: The crossover between the LF driver and the compression driver is achieved with a 4th order filter with directivity-matched transition, to ensure smooth transition and avoid abrupt changes in directivity of the speaker. The compression driver is protected against overdrive.

Weather resistant enclosure: The enclosure is made of LDPPE material and is heavily braced to maximize low-frequency performance. The corrosion-resistant metal grille has a backing of black acoustic foam on the inside, providing excellent protection in outdoor applications. 

Weather resistant hardware: The SOH 1008 comes with a 2.5mm thick heavy-duty corrosion resistant zinc-rich powder coated U bracket with 5 tilt positions in increments of 5 degree. The bracket allows for both wall and ceiling mount

High SPL and power handling: The woofer features a double coated paper cone for weatherproof applications, well-damped surround for smooth frequency response, 3" high temperature voice coil wound on a glass-fibre TIL former, a pressure die-cast powder-coated aluminium frame and a large 170mm vented magnet to achieve 95dB SPL and 300W AES power handling. The high frequency compression driver features a high temperature titanium diaphragm, and fluid-cooling for high output levels with low distortion. 

100 Volt and Direct connectivity: The system is equipped with a 80W 70V/100V multi-tap transformer. Connection is through a 1m long 6-core heavy duty cable terminated in a polyamide cable gland. A slide switch covered with a plastic cover selects between low impedance and high impedance mode. A zinc-rich powder coated metal hood prevents water from directly dripping over the enclosure back.
